DEIGO'S HOT SHOT x STARLIGHT CELEBRATION

Starlight is one of the most famous and recognized cows in the history of the Texas Longhorn Breed. Starlight was purchased by Clear Creek Pecan Plantation as a four year old back in 1997. At the time she was the longest horned cow in the breed and she did not relinquish that title for several years. Now measuring and astonishing 81 5/8" tip to tip, she will go down in history as one of the first five Texas Longhorns, cow or bull, to reach this magical threshold.

When you say the words "Cash Cow", you are defining the life of Starlight. Starlight is the dam to famous bulls such as, Awesome Viagra, Rock Star, Starliner and Country Star. She is also dam to famous cows, Starlight's Delight, Slicks Little Star and Phenomenal Star. Both Starlight's Delight and Slicks Little Star sold for $30,000 each at The Legacy Sale IV.  Phenomenal Star has produced THREE cows who reached 70" tip to tip at four years old and sold for five figures. Her bulls have also sold for big money. Rock Star was bought in a partnership for $13,000, Country Star for $10,000 and Starliner was sold for $27,000. Her granddaughter by Awesome Viagra, SDR Candy Cane, is the highest selling cow in Texas Longhorn History at $170,000.  She was sold at The Legacy Sale IV. Another granddaughter, Awesome Teardrop, sold at Legacy Sale II for $80,000. She is also the granddam to Texana Van Horn who was the FIRST black cow to reach 70" tip to tip by her fifth birthday and sold for over $30,000. Starlight has over TWENTY sons, daughters, grandsons or granddaughters to have sold for OVER $10,000. THAT is a Cash Cow.

Starlight will also have the distinction of being the first Texas Longhorn animal cloned. She is CF1 (Clone Family 1). There are four of her clones, three owned by Dr Zech Dameron III and one owned by Rex Mosser.

Starlight is still producing to this day and has forever changed the Texas Longhorn industry. Her progeny are desired in the best of longhorn programs and will continue to improve the breed going forward.
